FAQ

Answers before you push

Builds, domains, billing and security, grouped so you can scan for yours. The docs go deeper on every one.

01Builds

Which frameworks does Rivetlane build?
Next.js, Remix, Astro, SvelteKit, Nuxt and any static site generator are detected automatically. Anything else builds from a Dockerfile or a custom build command.
How are build minutes counted?
From the moment the build container starts until the output is uploaded, rounded up to the nearest second. Cache restores and queued time are free.
Can I cancel a build that is already running?
Yes, from the dashboard or with rivet builds cancel. A newer push to the same branch also cancels the older build automatically.

02Deploys and domains

Do previews get their own URL?
Every pull request gets a stable preview URL that updates on each push, plus a unique URL per commit you can share with reviewers.
How fast is a rollback?
Instant. Rolling back points your production domain at a previous deploy that is still warm, so there is no rebuild and no cold start.
Can we bring our own domain and certificates?
Yes. Point a CNAME or apex record at Rivetlane and certificates are issued and renewed automatically. Enterprise plans can upload their own certificates.

03Billing and security

What happens if we go over our bandwidth?
Nothing breaks. Extra bandwidth is billed at $0.15 per GB and you get an email at 80% and 100% of your plan, with a spend cap you can set in settings.
Do we pay for viewers or reviewers?
No. You pay per member who can deploy. Anyone can view and comment on previews for free, including people outside your team.
Is Rivetlane SOC 2 compliant?
Yes. We hold a SOC 2 Type II report renewed every year. Team and Enterprise customers can download it, along with our latest penetration test summary, from settings.

Stuck on a deploy?
